Pssstttt.... Have you heard the news? We are now an Independent Designer for Chalk Couture!!! It's so exciting be joining up with this brand new company, I can't wait to share all the fun with you! Chalk Couture just launched in July, so it really is brand new! Have you heard about it, yet? No? Well we can fix that up, real quick!
Do you love chalkboards? Like changing them out for different looks or messages, but sometimes don’t like the results of how it looks after you have freehanded it? Or you have it perfect and someone walks by and swipes it with their hand. Frustrating!!! It happens to most of us, but great news!!!! That’s what is so fabulous about CHALK COUTURE, they have solved our problem. If you are like me and can’t draw or don’t always like your handwriting, they have stencils for us. Chalk Couture stencils are a silkscreen vinyl stencil and best of all reusable! The chalk paste is rich thick and creamy and you just wipe it on and it stays put until you take it off. Wash your stencil off and you have a complete masterpiece and the envy of all your friends. It works on more than just chalkboards, too.
Chalk Couture is a Direct Sales Company, but it fits in with us here at Shell’s Vintage Charm, so well, that I had to jump on board. Plus, I couldn’t not tell you all about it. I promise not to be always asking you to sign up and join, but if you feel it’s a great fit for you and looking for a way to make extra money, we would love for you to join our team. We will be using it in some of our workshops and classes and yes, even on the signs and products that we sale.
Our kit is on its way and we will be sharing all the fun things with you soon! In the meantime take a look at all the fun stencils availabe here on our Chalk Couture website, here -->>> https://vintagecharm.chalkcouture.com/store#.
Be back soon with some more Chalk Couture inspiration!
We've been busy working on getting our vendor space all prettied up at Baker's Mercantile in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. I must say that it was a little past due, but we are loving the results, It always amazes me how just a few little changes here and there make a big impact.

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. It’s time to plant those flowers and spruce up our porches. So off we go, to purchase our flowers. Maybe we will pick up some new terracotta clay pots. We need something to plant the flowers in and they are cheap enough. Visions of our spruced up porch start to fill our mind… Cue the happy thoughts of spring… birds chirping, warmer weather, longer days, flowers, sitting on the porch sipping on sweet tea. But wait… something isn’t quite right, could it be that bright orangey looking thing? Yeah, that thing! You know that new terracotta clay pot, you just purchased. It has no charm! It looks out of place sitting there with all your other weathered containers, you know, the ones that has patina in all the right places. Now what are you going to do? No worries… I have the perfect solution! Let’s give it a faux weathered look and add texture using Country Chic Paint.
I am just a girl with a plan, lots of plans most days. Some of those plans, it isn’t unusual to have someone looking at me like…. Well you know the look, the one that has the little raised eyebrow and a somewhat smirk on the face. The one that says they kind of think maybe you have fallen off your rocker, look. That maybe you are really crazy, look. Have you seen that look before?
I had several new and exciting things happening at once and rather quickly, happening at Two Hip Chicks Marketplace. So I had to come up with a plan. The first one was I would be carrying a new paint line, Country Chic Paint. You probably already know the details of how the paint I was stocking went out of business. (If not you can read more on it here.) The second being I was moving from a little bitty 35 square foot space to a 120 square foot space. (Squeal) In all of this excitement, I realized, I needed more display pieces and fast.
