I wanted the look of vintage beadboard for my studio ceiling. My inspiration came from Pinterest you can see pictures with links here and here. The only problem was I didn't have a stock pile or any close by of the vintage beadboard to recycle. So... I made a similar version of it myself.
Arrival of New Studio
We are in the process of getting a new studio and I am super excited. I am trying to be patient while all of the construction is being complete and I can get all moved in. Patience does not come easy for this girl!
All set up in place and waiting for the electrical work to begin.
Electrical work is all complete and my Prince Charming is putting in the insulation. My excitement is building.
In the meantime, I have began painting on the ceiling panels. I love the look of vintage bead board put together in a random order. Not having any, I decided that I could buy the bead board paneling and do a faux finish to make my own. I think it turned out pretty well. I will do a post next week, on how I painted and distressed the panels to get the look.
We (mainly He because I was not much help) started putting up the ceiling panels on night after he got home from work. I am really liking the way it is coming together and looking. He already has 4 of the panels on and says he will finish it tonight after work so we can begin on the walls this weekend.
Planning on having a weekend of working on the studio and hopefully if all goes as planned we will have the walls up and be ready for me to paint. Come back next week for see the progress and the steps to completed the faux ceiling technique.
Makeover of a Secretary Chest of Drawers
"Do you want to buy this chest of drawers?" my friend asked. My reply was, "Awesome, that is great! Let me think about it." For some reason, I was a bit (okay, so maybe a lot) wishy washy and hesitant about buying this piece? It was in excellent shape, the perfect item for a makeover. I do love to paint and do furniture makeovers. Why was I being so hesitant?
